Microsoft to cut 10K jobs, expects $1.2B hit in Q2

Microsoft is set to lay off 5% of its global workforce, joining other technology companies, including META, Amazon, and Salesforce.com, that have made similar announcements due to slow customer spending. 

This move comes ahead of the company’s upcoming earnings call, as post-pandemic customer spending remains challenging to forecast. Despite these challenges, Microsoft is pursuing strategic investments in Open AI and the GitHub copilot platform. Read the DIVE BRIEF
