October 11, 2023: SAP has revealed its plans to embed generative AI into its spend management applications; the goal is to automate routine processes and generate context-sensitive content so enterprises can be more efficient and reach their goals faster. SAP’s latest addition to their generative AI agenda includes the Intelligent Spend management applications. Their new generative AI assistant, Joule, is slated for integration into SAP Ariba, SAP Fieldglass, SAP Concur, and SAP Business Network.
The SAP Ariba Category Management application will include generative AI capabilities designed to help procurement professionals improve category management by initiating market analysis and offering strategy suggestions. SAP Fieldglass will use generative AI to create more effective job descriptions and more detailed statements of work for proposals.
SAP Spend Control Tower is a new application that provides organizations with an analysis of their spending data across the Intelligent Spend applications. The Spend Control Tower includes dashboards that offer various views of the spend data.
